Product Description
Laser Point II is a patented laser ablatable film used with infra-red laser plate imagers with a vacuum system. Primary User Benefits include:
• Cost Savings in Equipment- eliminate the image setter ($25,000 - $100,000)
• Chemical free processing - eliminating waste removal costs
• Requires no processing.
• Film is more robust and scratch resistant than silver film
• Available in 7 mil and widths up to 72” (180cm+)
The IR - UV absorbing layer is ablated leaving a matte finish in the ablated areas ready for use.

Imaged film with a matte layer in the ablated areas for assisting vacuum draw down CLEAR
If a clear film is required in the ablated areas, the matte can be removed with denatured alcohol. The denatured alcohol will not affect the imaged areas, but will only remove the matte Exposure

Handling Characteristics
LaserPoint II Thermal Ablative film can be handled in normal room light.
No Darkrooms
No Special Lighting
Solvent Resistant
Imaged with most Flexographic Platesetters
Image quality equal to best conventional film
Unique to LaserPoint II is that it delivers a matte film in both the image and ablated (non-imageareas or can be converted to a clear (non-matte) film in the ablated areas. A matte film is essential during vacuum draw down to prevent air pockets from forming between the plate and the film interface in large ablated areas. If a clear film is required in the ablated areas simply clean with denatured alcohol and the matte will be removed. This dual purpose characteristic allows the user to choose either a matte or clear background depending on the requirement eliminating the need to inventory more than one film.
Using Film Cleaners
If a film cleaner is required to remove dirt, dust or other surface debris, any water or solvent based silver halide or diazo film cleaner is acceptable. A slight discoloration of the cleaning pad may result but will not affect density or background areas.
Platesetter Proofing
LaserPoint II film allows the user to pull a proof using the same platesetter that is used to makeflexographic plates. No expensive imagesetter needed to make silver halide based proofs. Use existing platesetter No additional film required
